Future Focused: Strengthening COMTO for the Path Ahead

COMTO’s strength lies in its mission. Our core values of ensuring transportation serves all, connecting untapped talent to opportunities, and empowering communities have guided this organization for over five decades. Now, as COMTO approaches its 55th year, we are building upon that foundation to cement COMTO’s continued strength, stability, and success in the future.  

COMTO Headquarters and the Strategic Planning Committee are working to develop the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan. We are guided by our collective theme: Future Focused – Strengthening COMTO for the Path Ahead. As a body, we will define our future goals and establish a framework for engagement and retention, professional development, and advocacy. All while ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of the transportation industry and COMTO’s mission. 

Part of the planning process includes feedback from our stakeholders. Members, Industry Partners, staff, and our Board of Directors will all help shape the 2026-2029 strategic plan through their invaluable insights. Our goal in soliciting honest reviews is to improve our organization and position COMTO to continue to be a trusted partner and advocate as we uplift best practices, workforce development, and community engagement.   

Part of our future-forward vision included refreshing our bylaws, which govern our non-profit (501 C3). The COMTO Bylaws Review Task Force first convened in March 2025 to review and recommend revisions to COMTO’s National Bylaws, which were last updated in 2019. Members can review proposed changes here.
