Former DOT Director Joins COMTO as Deputy CEO
Arlington, VA – COMTO is pleased to announce Tyra Redus, former Director of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization with the USDOT, as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Redus is a nationally respected executive and attorney who has led initiatives advancing opportunity and access across government, industry, and the legal profession. Her hiring ushers in a new era of leadership and growth for the 54-year-old organization.

Her expertise and reputation as a fierce champion in this space elevates COMTO’s mission of ensuring transportation and contracting serve all.”
At the USDOT, Tyra shaped national strategies to strengthen participation of small businesses. Under her leadership, the Department enhanced contracting practices and broadened access to federal procurement during one of the largest infrastructure investments in U.S. history. Prior to her public service, Tyra led a regional team at Skanska USA Building, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms.

I am eager to get to work moving the mission forward.”
Tyra is currently the Board Chair of Girls, Inc. of Washington, DC. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Enterprising Women of Color DMV Business Center and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
