COMTO's past President/CEO, Julie Cunningham inducted into the APTA Hall of Fame

COMTO's past President/CEO, Julie Cunningham, was inducted into the APTA Hall of Fame for her distinguished service and extraordinary contributions to public transportation. Thank you, American Public Transportation Association, for inducting our past president into your prestigious Hall of Fame and recognizing her as a tireless advocate for minorities in transportation!

While serving as the President/CEO of COMTO from 2001-2014, Julie was instrumental in elevating the organization and its partners by advocating for a level playing field, maximum employment, and contract participation for underrepresented groups in transportation. Under her leadership, COMTO was awarded the 2005 Disadvantaged Business Advocate of the Year by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

In honor of Julie's induction, her daughter Karissa Cunningham, and current and past board members created an acceptance video on her behalf. Please view it here: https://lnkd.in/eDHW3g9f.

We believe that diversity moves the nation.

We believe that the leadership of a massive industry that has the responsibility of transporting all people all the time should reflect the complex mosaic of those they serve. We believe that commitment to inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity and experience moves us forward every day.
